Obituary of Richard Witte

Richard C. Witte, 84 of Changewater, NJ passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg, NJ. Dick as he was known by family and friends, served his country proudly as a marine in the Korean War. He was the first president of the Northwest New Jersey BeeKeeper's Association. Dick loved riding a motorcycle and always talked of one last ride. He was and avid beekeeper, gardener, and huntsman. He loved nature and was his happiest being outdoors. Dick was a beloved husband and father. He leaves behind his loving wife Eleanor and his five devoted children, Deborah, Denise, Rick, Donna and Dennis. He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Dick was the oldest of four siblings. He leaves behind sister Carolyn and brother Walt. Dick was predeceased by his brother Harry. They grew up on a large vegetable farm in Hampton, NJ run by his father Walt and mother Ethelyn. Viewing will be on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 pm.
