Obituary of Frank L Hassemer

Frank L. Hassemer passed away at home with his wife and daughter by his side on Aug. 17. 2015. Born in Washington NJ on July 2, 1929, he was a Corporal in the U.S. Army and was discharged in 1957 after serving in Germany. He grew up and lived in Washington, NJ for most of his life, moving to PA in 1984. He was a head deacon at the First Baptist Church in Washington for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir. After retiring from his own company, Hassemer Design Services, he was a stained glass and wood working artist and owned Trails End Gifts in PA. He enjoyed golfing and traveling. He and his wife lived in Troy, Missouri for 10 years before moving to Loris, SC in Aug. 2014. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol Evelyn (Oliver), daughter Mary, wife of Andrew Taub of Loris, SC, two grandchildren, Ami, wife of Michael Kendra of Martinsburg, WV, and Benjamin Coveleskie of New Orleans, LA, three great grandchildren, Adam, Nathan and Lincoln Kendra, and a brother Robert of Dushore, PA. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Frank and Hilda (Hoffman) Hassemer of Washington, NJ, two sisters, Carolann and Janet and a brother Leonard. Frank and Carol have been residing in Loris, SC for the last year with their daughter Mary and her husband. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed. Cremation was held at Goldfinch Funeral Home in Loris, SC. There were no services. Memorial was private. Condolences can be sent to: 320 Bright Leaf Rd. Loris, SC 29569
