Obituary of Barry J Havens

Barry J. “Racey” Havens 67, of Oxford NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday February 1, 2017. Racey was born August 11, 1949 to the late Theodore A Havens and Laura Cole Talpas. He was of Methodist faith. Racey was a hunting and fishing enthusiast. He also enjoyed Metal Detecting. He started shooting archery at the young age of seven and won countless championships through the years. He was a member of the Musconetcong Bowman Archery Club. Racey was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also belonged to several gun clubs over the years. He was employed at the Oxford Textile in Oxford NJ. Racey was also a member of the Oxford Volunteer Fire Department and the Oxford Fire Company Social Club in Oxford NJ. Racey was also a proud member of the NRA. He is survived by his wife Karen (Hoffman) Havens of 42 years, Daughters; Mandi and husband Bill Rogers of Phillipsburg, Kelly and husband Trevor Joseph of Washington, and Krystle and husband Jon Thomas of Oxford, two grandchildren, Hailey and Jon Jr., whom he loved spending time with, and his Aunt Carol Southerland of Belvidere NJ. Racey was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Ray Havens and a sister, Patricia Pene. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 PM in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday at 11AM in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Oxford NJ.
