Obituary of Paul P. Berezny Sr.

Paul P. Berezny Sr., 77, of Washington, New Jersey passed away peacefully on April 16th, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital Warren. Paul was born in Bayonne, New Jersey to loving parents the late Peter Berezny and the late Dorothy Berezny-Moskal (nee Baron). Paul was raised in Bayonne and after high school went on to earn a bachelor's degree in forestry from Colorado State University in 1968. Paul was married to RoseMarie and together they had six children: Paul Jr., John, Jeffrey, Robyn, Thomas, and Robert. Paul raised his family in Washington, New Jersey and will be forever remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Paul spent his career working in forestry as an area forester for the state of New Jersey.

Paul’s love for the outdoors didn’t end with his work day in his spare time he often loved to ride his motorcycle and venture down new roads, exploring areas that were unseen to him. For many years Paul was a member of the Roseto Rod and Gun Club in Bangor, Pennsylvania. He was also part of the Belvidere VFW and American Legion Posts. Paul enjoyed reading National Geographic and the newspapers cover to cover and always sought to finish the crosswords. He enjoyed listening to music, playing pool, and watching reruns of his favorite shows Walker Texas Ranger, MacGyver, and Star Trek, often with a glass of scotch to top off the day. 

Paul will be forever missed by his son, Paul Berezny Jr. and his wife Jennifer; son, John Berezny his wife the late Kristina Berezny; son, Jeffrey Berezny and his wife Traci; daughter, Robyn Gardella and her husband Derik; son, Thomas Berezny; and son, Robert Berezny and his wife Erica. Paul is also survived by his grandchildren: Allyson and her husband Dennis, Amanda, Michael, Maria, Megyn, Carly and her husband Carsen, Elijah, Isabella, Thomas, Hannah, Julianna, and Brooke; two great-grandchildren, Jaxyn and Evalynn; and his sisters, Suzanne Berezny, Debra Ferlito and her husband Frank, and brother Philip Moskal. Also many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Paul is predeceased by his parents Peter Berezny and Dorothy Moskal; and sister, Joyce Berezny. 

Memorial Visitation will take place on Sunday April 21st, 2024, from 3:00pm until 4:00pm at The Chapel at Warren Valley. Immediately following the Visitation a Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held in The Chapel at 4pm. The Chapel at Warren Valley is located at 384 NJ State Route 57 in Washington, New Jersey 07882.
