Obituary of Karl Merrill

Karl Raymond Merrill, 79, of Mansfield Township, New Jersey ended his days peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Karl was born on July 10, 1932 in the family farmhouse on Karrsville Road, Washington, NJ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eslie and Roberta ( nee Banghart) Merrill. Karl was a graduate of Washington High School, Washington, NJ. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed travel. Karl retired from Agway, Inc., Washington, NJ. He was predeceased by his loving wife Elizabeth May Merrill in 2000. He is survived by two sons; Karl Jr. and wife Penny of Big Pine Key, FL, a son Robert of Mansfield Township, NJ, four daughters; Carol Swales and husband Timothy of Washington, NJ, Patrica Barna and husband Joseph of Easton, PA, Nancy Enz and husband Robert of Whitehouse Station, NJ, and Dawn Howell of New Tripoli, PA, two brothers; Elmer Merrill of Graham, NC, and Alfred Merrill of Belvidere, NJ, two sisters; Alice Staats of Washington, NJ, and Mary Lefler of Grafton, WV, and seven grandchildren; Caitlin Enz, Erfurt Germany, Kendal Enz, Frederick MD, Audra Enz, Whitehouse Station NJ, Kristen Barna, Easton PA, Joseph Swales, Washington NJ, Anita and Jonathan Howell, New Tripoli PA. A service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012 at the DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A burial will follow at Port Murray Cemetery, Port Murray, NJ. Ended his days peacefully under the care of Hunterdon Hospice and Visiting Health and Supportive Services.
