Obituary of Catherine Morrow

Catherine E. Morrow 99 of Wind Gap PA died Sunday March 14th 2010 in Warren Haven where she had been a guest for the past two and a half months. She was born in Emmaus PA on August 6th, 1910 she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Mamie Stroh Wickert. A long time resident of Perth Amboy NJ, she moved to Walden III in Wind Gap PA ten years ago. She loved sewing and knitting and she made many of her own clothes. She volunteered for many years with the Salvation Army in Perth Amboy and was a Christmas season bell ringer at the Woodbridge Mall until the age of 90. She was employed in local mills including the Standard Silk Mill and as a warping operator for RJB Textile Company in Perth Amboy NJ and in New York and Schrafts Restaurant in NY City. She is survived by a niece Joan Rowe of Oxford NJ, Wayne Melberger and his wife Patricia of Oxford, David Wickert and his wife Jane, Raymond Wickert and his wife Sheilaand many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Wilber, 4 sisters, Florence Kirshner, Luella Navin, Laura Reese and Frances Melberger, two brothers William and Leroy Wickert and two nephews Alan Wickert and Harvey Reese. Visitation will be on Thursday March 18th from 10-11AM followed by a funeral service at 11 am in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave, Washington NJ 07882, Burial in the Hillside Cemetery Oxford NJ.
