Obituary of Elden Woolf

Elden L. Woolf, 81, of Levittown, PA and formerly of Washington, NJ passed away at home on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 surrounded by his loved ones. Elden was born on August 16, 1930 in Phillipsburg, NJ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Myrtle ( nee Rush) Woolf. Elden was known as the "neighborhood watch dog." He enjoyed playing bingo, working on cars and trucks. He also loved gardening and flowers. He is survived is survived by his companion of 24 years, Helen Schreiner of Levittown, PA. He is also survived by seven sons, Elden Jr. of Mohrsville, PA, Ronald of Walnutbottom, PA, David of Waynesboro, VA, Russ of Churchville, VA, Earl of Cottage Grove, TN, Charles "Buck" of Monroe, PA, and Wayne Woolf of Singerglen, VA, three daughters, Debra Lentz of Columbia, SC, Linda Durgerian of Orlando, FL, and Cindy Rhodes of Grottoes, VA, two brothers, Arthur Woolf of Phillipsburg, NJ and James Woolf of Port Murray, NJ, a sister, Marion of Delaware, NJ, 33 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Berger and Doris Rittenhouse and two brothers, Arnold and John Woolf. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at the DeVoe Funeral Service, 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. An interment will follow at Stewarstville Presbyterian Cemetery, Stewarstville, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elden's memory can be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
