Shirley Blanche, 84 of Mt. Bethel, PA formerly of Washington, NJ passed away Tuesday March 29, 2011 at Warren Hospital surrounded by her family. Shirley was born on March 16, 1927 in Easton PA. . She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Alice (Hoffman) Foulk.. Shirley was a graduate of Washington High School. Shirley enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, NJ, and Mother/Daughter trips with her 5 girls. Her passion were her children, all her grandchildren and her great grandchild. She also had many dear and beloved friends who she cherished and are part of the family.. Shirley was a parshioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Alpha, NJ.She was employed as an operator for Bell Telephone, Washington, NJ. After having a family she devoted all her efforts to raising her children. Once they were grown, she returned to work at the Cohen’s Department Store and The Chocolate Shoppe, and Richards Fine footwear all in Washington NJ.. She is predeceased by her husband of 61 years Jerry Blanche in 2008. She is survived by a son; Jerry “Bitsey” and wife Marge Blanche of Stroudsburg, PA, five daughters; Alice Hebel and husband Dr. Mel of Mt. Arlington, NJ, Barbara Opdycke and husband Dana of Washington, NJ, Kathleen Jones and husband Craig of Bangor, PA, Jean Bracey and husband Dan of Washington, NJ, Ann Fisher of Belvidere, NJ, 15 grandchildren; Jennifer, Andrea, Julie, Matthew, Jordan, Scott, David, Lauren, Krista, Daniel, Jacob, Beth Ann, Jessica, Amanda, and Danny, and one great-grandchild; Olivia. She is predeceased by her son Matthew Blanche, grandson; Brendan Opdycke, son-in-law; Daniel Fisher, and brother; Charles Foulk. Visitation will be Friday April 1, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at The DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave, Washington NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 830 5th Avenue, Alpha, NJ 08865. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Alpha, NJ.
