Obituary of Patrick Hughes

Patrick M. Hughes, 68, of Washington, NJ passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. Patrick was born on September 23, 1943. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. and Carmella (nee Bellitti). Patrick served for the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was also a member of the Phillipsburg Pistol Club, Riverside Cigar Shoppe Club, and the Famous Smoke Shop. He enjoyed photography, boating, and fly fishing. Patrick was a parshioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Washington, NJ. He is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Janet Hughes. He is also survived by three daughters, Kristin Disbrow of Washington, NJ, Margaret Vath of Marietta, GA, and Bridget Hughes of Southlake, TX; four grandsons, Thomas and Alex Disbrow, Vincent Vath and Elijah Emmer; sons-in-law, Frank Disbrow, Michael Vath, and Daniel Emmer; and a brother, Robert M. Hughes of Eatontown, NJ. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.at the DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. Military honors will be performed by the Navy at 9:15 a.m. at DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc. on Friday, January 27, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. Donations in Patrick's name may be sent to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave Newton, NJ 07860. The DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc. has been entrusted with his arrangements.
