Obituary of Spencer H. Hockenbury

Spencer H. Hockenbury, 65, of Oxford, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025. Born on November 16, 1959, in Flemington, NJ, he was the son of the late Spencer W. Hockenbury and the late Pearl (Hillman) Hockenbury. A devoted son, he held a special loyalty to his mother. Spencer was a dedicated worker at Rossi Chevrolet and GMC dealership in Washington, NJ, for twenty-five years.

After achieving sobriety thirteen years ago, he committed himself to his recovery and aided others on their journeys through Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Spencer truly embodied the principles of “Humility and love for God.”  He formed many friendships that he considered family and was blessed to have them with him during his final days. He will be deeply missed by all.

Spencer is predeceased by his parents, Spencer W. Hockenbury and Pearl (Hillman) Hockenbury.

His dedication to helping others on their path to sobriety and his commitment to the AA community will be fondly remembered.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5th from 1:00 until 3:00PM with prayer service and reflections of Spencer’s life starting at 2:00PM.
