Cindy Widdoss

Obituary of Cindy Lou Widdoss

Cindy Lou Widdoss, 69, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital–Warren Campus, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Cindy was the daughter of the late Helen and Walter Hoffman. She was raised in Oxford, New Jersey, and was a proud graduate of Belvidere High School, Class of 1974.

On May 31, 1981, Cindy married the love of her life, Robert Widdoss, in Stewartsville, New Jersey. Together, they shared nearly 45 years of marriage and built a beautiful life centered around family. They made their home in Stewartsville, where they raised their two sons, Jason and Brian.

Cindy’s strong work ethic began at a young age. At just 15, she started working at The Waterfront, a busy restaurant along Route 46. She later worked at the American Can Company and spent nearly 10 years as a dedicated bank teller at the First National Bank of Washington. Cindy concluded her career with Stover and Stover, where she served as a secretary and receptionist.

While Cindy took great pride in her professional life, her most cherished roles were those of wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the heart of her family—always welcoming, always giving, and always ready to offer love, support, and a warm smile. She especially adored her grandchildren and found great joy in spoiling them every chance she could.

Cindy had a creative spirit and a love for crafting. She was exceptionally talented in cross-stitch and crocheting—affectionately referred to by her husband as her “knittin’.” She also found peace and happiness tending to her flowers and garden. Cindy treasured time spent traveling with her family, from magical trips to Disney World and cruises, to a memorable cross-country journey by train. Cindy shared a special bond with her family though their many camping trips to up state New York and Michigan, enjoying many nascar race weekends as a family.

Cindy is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Widdoss; her sons, Jason Widdoss and his wife Jennifer, and Brian Widdoss; her sister, Roseann Miksch; her brother, Merlin Hoffman and his wife Darlene; her sisters-in-law, Lee Widdoss-Peterson and her husband Eric, and Debbie Gara and her husband Glen; her cherished grandchildren, Jaxon and Bryson; and her aunt, Barbara “Cookie” Thompson.

In addition to her parents, Cindy was predeceased by her mother, Helen Hoffman, who entered eternal rest just hours before Cindy on April 2, 2026—a testament to the deep and unbreakable bond they shared.

A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to honor and remember the lives of both Cindy and her mother, Helen, at Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 142 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882.
