Obituary of Richard John Spano

Richard John Spano, 78, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the beloved son of the late Diego and Agnes Spano.

Richard was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Ruth Spano, and a loving father to Lori and Michael. A longtime resident of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Richard was well known throughout the community as the owner and mechanic of Rode Runner Auto Repair, where he dedicated many years serving friends and customers alike with honesty and skill.

In addition to his wife Ruth, Richard is survived by his loving daughter, Lori Soto and her husband Luis; his son, Michael Spano; and his cherished granddaughter, Lyla Soto.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cremation to be held privately according to Richard's wishes.
