Obituary of Frederick Theodore Pauser

Frederick Theodore Pauser, 84, passed away unexpectedly near his home in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Born on March 18, 1942, in Somerville, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Theodore and Irma Pauser and grew up in Warren Township, New Jersey.

Fred was a 1960 graduate of Watchung Hills High School, where he distinguished himself as an undefeated state champion wrestler. His success in wrestling earned him a full scholarship to Rutgers University.

In 1962, Fred proudly joined the New Jersey Army National Guard, serving honorably and attaining the rank of Sergeant. Following his military service, he returned home and worked for UPS before setting out to travel throughout the United States in search of new opportunities and experiences.

Eventually settling in Seattle, Washington, Fred became the owner and operator of a successful automobile repair shop specializing in Datsun vehicles. After more than a decade in business, he sold the shop and relocated briefly to Billings, Montana, before ultimately returning to New Jersey and settling in Washington. There, he founded Lenape Tree Service and worked for many years as a skilled arborist.

Fred was a quiet and reserved man who possessed a deeply caring nature and a generous heart for those closest to him. He valued hard work, independence, and family, and he will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his brother, Stephen Pauser; his brother, Joseph “Glenn” Pauser and wife Francine; his sisters, June Pauser and Pamela Pauser; as well as many nieces, nephews, and members of his extended family.

In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by his brother, Donald Pauser.

Services will be held privately in accordance with Fred’s wishes.
