Obituary of Tommy Vasopolli

Tommy Vasopolli passed away peacefully at home on June 9, 2026, at the age of 80. Tommy was a truly genuine person whose presence left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him. He lived life in his own way, remained true to himself, and built meaningful relationships with countless people throughout his life. Tommy was known for his quick sense of humor, his authenticity, and his ability to connect with
others. When Tommy smiled, you knew it was sincere, and those moments are memories that many will cherish forever.

In October of 1997, Tommy moved into The Arc of Warren County and became family. During nearly three decades with the organization, he formed lasting friendships and became an important part of the lives of staff, housemates, friends, and community members alike. He had a way of making people feel comfortable around him, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and cared for him.

Tommy enjoyed many things throughout his life. He was an avid sports fan. He especially loved watching football and baseball games. He was a devoted fan of classic westerns, especially The Rifleman and The Lone Ranger, which he faithfully requested to watch nearly every day. Music was another one of Tommy’s passions. Whenever Elvis Presley or Johnny Cash came on, he was known to grab his air guitar and microphone and put on a performance that never failed to draw smiles from those around him.

One of Tommy’s favorite things to do was go out to eat, especially to the diner. Whether he was enjoying a meal, chatting with familiar faces, or meeting someone new, Tommy had a remarkable ability to make connections wherever he went. Over the years, he built friendships throughout the community and became well known to many. Earlier this year, Tommy celebrated his 80th birthday surrounded by friends, pizza, cake, and the music of Elvis Presley. It was a celebration of a life well lived and a reflection of the people and experiences that meant the most to him. Tommy lived with determination and independence, never allowing limitations to define who he was or what he could accomplish. He approached life on his own terms, pursued the things he enjoyed, and remained steadfastly himself through every stage of life.

While Tommy’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of many, his memory will live on through the stories shared, the friendships he built, and the countless lives he touched over the years. He will be remembered not only for the things he loved, but for the person he was—genuine, resilient, humorous, and unapologetically himself.

The family of The Arc of Warren County, along with Tommy’s many friends and loved ones, will carry his memory with them always.

Friends and Family are welcomed for Visitation on Tuesday June 16th, 2026 from 11am until 1pm at Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 142 West Washington Avenue, Washington, New Jersey, 07882. Immedately following the Visitation a Funeral Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home at 1pm. Tommy will be laid to rest at the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery located on Valley Road in Hampton, New Jersey following the service.
