Obituary of Theodore Bell Jenkins

Theodore "Ted" Bell Jenkins, 76, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital – Anderson Campus.

Born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Ted was the son of the late Theodore Young and Hazel Moser Jenkins. He was raised in Broadway, New Jersey, and graduated from Warren Hills Regional High School with the Class of 1968.

Ted dedicated nearly 50 years of his life to Warren Controls, Inc., where he worked as an Assembly Supervisor and Senior Valve Technician. His strong work ethic, mechanical expertise, and commitment to excellence earned him the respect and admiration of his coworkers throughout his long career.

On July 31, 1976, Ted married the love of his life, Candy Jenkins (Stem). Together they built a loving home and raised their children, Theodore Jr., Eric, and Heidi. Their marriage was a testament to devotion and partnership, lasting 43 years until Candy's passing.

A proud and dedicated member of his community, Ted served as a volunteer firefighter with the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department for 24 years. During his years of service, he held nearly every leadership position within the department, including serving as Past Chief. His commitment to protecting and serving others left a lasting impact on the community he loved.

Ted was a talented craftsman who enjoyed gardening, carpentry, and woodworking. Over the years, he lovingly created countless treasured pieces for his family, from handcrafted bassinets to beautifully carved benches, each reflecting his remarkable skill and attention to detail. He also cherished the outdoors and spent many happy hours hunting and fishing. Ted raised numerous litters of coonhounds throughout his life and often spoke fondly of his favorite dog, Snoopy.

In his later years, Ted embraced what he considered his greatest role—that of Grandpa. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and baseball and, in recent years, became an enthusiastic Philadelphia Phillies fan.

Ted is survived by his son, Theodore "Teddy" Jenkins Jr. Of Nazareth Pa, a son, Eric and his wife Stacy Gild of Bethlehem and a daughter-in-law Megan Jenkins. Grandchildren; Theodore “Theo” Jenkins III, Ashley Henderson, Cory Crouse and Kaden Gild and his Great-Grandchildren: Mason and Hailey; his brother, Earl Jenkins and his wife, Marlene; as well as many extended family members and friends.s.

In addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by his beloved wife, Candy Jenkins; his daughter, Heidi Crouse; and his sister, Nancy Staley.

Family and friends are invited to gather for Memorial Visitation on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 142 West Washington Avenue, Washington, New Jersey 07882. A memorial service celebrating Ted's life will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ted will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his service to his community, his craftsmanship, and the kindness and wisdom he shared with all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
