Obituary of George Martin

George N. Martin, 80, of Easton, PA, died at home on Monday, November 24, 2008. George was born in Washington Borough, NJ, a son of the late John and the late Nettie (Metz) Martin. He proudly served during the Korean War in the Army from 1952 - 1954. He was employed by Ingersoll-Rand for 31 years working in the Aluminum & Brass Foundary division. George was a member of the Lester Pfeffer Post 611 in Wilson Boro and the VFW Post 17, Easton PA. He volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center, Easton, PA. Survivors: He was the husband of the late Elaine (Groner) Martin and the late step brother of John Martin, Jr. and William Martin. George is survived by a daughter, Cindy Oursler and her husband Tom, of Celebration, FL and three sons, Richard Martin and his wife Sue of Palmer Township, PA; Robert Martin of Easton, PA, and George Martin and his wife Tracy of Apopka, FL., nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Elaine, a daughter, Nettie Martin, and a stepdaughter, Shirley Compton all died earlier. Services: Friends may call Saturday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at DeVoe Funeral Service Inc., 136 West Washington Ave, Washington, NJ. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Stewartsville Lutheran Cemetery, Stewartsville.
