Obituary of Kenneth Haller

Kenneth William Haller, 44, of Brodheadsville, PA passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS/Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and Pick’s Disease on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Chestnut Hill Manor, Brodheadsville, PA. Kenneth was born June 19, 1964 in Phillipsburg, NJ the son of William and Elsie (Benson) Haller. He grew up in Washington, graduating from Warren Hills Regional High School in 1982. He graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Ken was a star athlete in high school and college, where he played football and basketball. For much of his career he was a top Sales Representative for companies including Sommer’s Inc. and Merck Pharmaceutical, along with helping develop marketing programs for two start-up companies. Ken was also a co-founder of a successful real estate business in the Stroudsburg area, focusing on rehabilitating homes to provide affordable housing for ESU students. Ken shared his love of football as a referee for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association in the Poconos for many years along with helping coach his daughters’ basketball teams. He attended services at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tannersville, PA. Ken lived an active life, enjoying all sports, his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors: Ken is survived by his loving parents, William and Elsie Haller of Andover, NJ; two beautiful daughters, Morgan and Cassidy Haller of Tannersville, PA; three sisters Lynn Fuller and her husband Bruce of Whitehouse Station, NJ, Diane Rossi and her husband Mark of Glenwood, NJ, and Karen Siegel and her husband Mark of Flemington, NJ, and eight nieces and nephews. Services: A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 11:00 am at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 214 State Route 31 North, Washington, NJ. Due to limited seating, the family requests that only Ken’s close friends and family attend the service. A private cremation was held earlier in the month at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
