Obituary of Mary Popinko

Mary Popinko, 92, of Oxford, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Warren Haven Nursing Home, Oxford, NJ, where she worked for many years. Born June 30, 1915, Mary was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Stasyshyn. She was raised in the Hampton area. Mary and her late husband, Mike, lived in Oxford since 1941. Memberships: She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, and the church’s Altar Rosary Society. Father Andrew Wieliczko gave Mary the Last Rites of the Catholic Church prior to her passing. Survivors: Mary is survived by her brother Peter Stasyshyn of Georgia; her sister, Anastasia LaPorta of Washington; three granddaughters, Kimberly Wood of Phillipsburg, Kelly LaBar of Oxford, and Jill Popinko of Dover; three great-grandchildren, David Jr. and Jessica Wood of Phillipsburg and Kimberly LaBar of Oxford. Mary’s husband, Mike passed away March 29, 1989. A daughter, Mary Anna Mullener, passed away September 29, 1978 and her son, Michael passed away June 6, 1994. Services: Friends may call Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at DeVoe Funeral Service Inc., 136 West Washington Ave, Washington, NJ followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Rose Of Lima Catholic Church, Oxford.
