Obituary of Arnold Schnetzer

Arnold Paul Schnetzer, 77, of Asbury, NJ, died Saturday, September 27, 2008 in Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ. He was born in Montclair, NJ, the son of the late John Jacob and the late Alvena (Wenkel) Schnetzer. Arnold proudly served during the Korean War in the Army from Jan 7, 1953 to Dec. 9, 1954 and was in the Army Reserves until 1960. He graduated with a BA from Paterson State College. He was employed by the Lebanon Township School District first as an Elementary School Teacher and later as an Administrator, retiring in 1993. Arnold was a dedicated volunteer, giving so much of his time to the Emergency Room of Warren Hospital, the American Red Cross – Morristown Chapter, as well as with Musikfest and Kriskringlemart in Bethlehem, PA. Survivors: Arnold is survived by a nephew, Joel H. Schnetzer and his wife Ann Marie of Asbury, NJ; a niece, Nancy Trivette and her husband Randy of Trenton, NJ; a step nephew, Paul L. Hull of Asbury, NJ; a step niece, Debroah B. Hull of Bethlehem, PA. Arnold was predeceased by his brother, Norman J. Schnetzer in 1989 and a step niece, Sandy Dotzenrod in 1996. Tributes: As a former Leabanon Township Elementary School student (K-8, way back when), I remember Mr. Schnetzer well. He was a driven, compassionate leader, and cared very sincerely about the school and his students. He will be missed.
