Billie DeLorenzo

Obituary of Billie I. DeLorenzo

With a heavy heart, the family of Billie I. DeLorenzo (Lauer), 83, of Oxford, NJ, announces her passing on January 12, 2022. Born in Oxford, NJ, she was the daughter of the late George C. Lauer Sr. and Lydia A. Lauer (Lusk).

She was a graduate of Washington High School in 1956 and was married in 1958 to the late Albert F. DeLorenzo Sr. Billie was a lifelong member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Oxford, NJ. Having worked and retired from American National Can Co. after 38 years, she continued to have a very active schedule with her many family members and lifelong friends (Peg Oram, Madeline Gouger, Beryl Baylor, Shirley Coleman).  She enjoyed spending time with her friends while attending the Red Hat Society and The Oxford Young at Hearts Senior Group. She also enjoyed spending time with her family as much as possible, with a family party at least once a month. She always found a reason to celebrate and get together. On any given day you could find her doing a puzzle at her table or sending out a card of encouragement to everyone. Whether you just met her, or you had known her your whole life, she was everyone’s Grandma or Aunt Bill. She adored her family, and her door was always open for a quick meal or to rest your head until you got back on your feet.

She will forever be missed by sister, Juanita Werkheiser; sons, Paul W. DeLorenzo Sr. and wife Norma, Albert F. DeLorenzo Jr. and wife Cynthia, and Michael D. DeLorenzo; daughter, Lydia A. DeLorenzo; grandchildren: Paul DeLorenzo Jr, fiancé Eliana, Clarissa Werley, husband Todd, Kyle DeLorenzo, Alex DeLorenzo and Deitrich Voorhees; “adopted” granddaughter Cynthia Valle; uncountable nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Cora Wachelka, Sally Radin, and brothers, George Lauer Jr, Frank Lauer, Charles Lauer, and Louis Lauer.
