Obituary of Carol Elizabeth Southerland

Carol Havens Southerland, (the eagle lady) age 91, of Belvidere, formerly of Washington, has flown to her heavenly home on Thursday March 21, 2024.

Born February 3, 1933 in Washington, New Jersey a daughter of the late Theodore A. and Laurina Van Brookhoven Havens.

Carol graduated from Washington High School in 1950 and attended Nyack College. A graduate of Art Instruction School of Minneapolis. Carol was a former telephone operator of NJ Bell Telephone Company and worked for 18 years as a dispatcher for the Washington Borough Police Department. She was and artist, poet, and photographer. Carol toured with the Encor-Continental Singers to Colorado, Great Britain, Scotland, and California. She was a charter member of Warren County Community Singers and a member of Warren County ARTS. Carol faithfully attended The Chapel at Warren Valley in Washington.

Carol is survived by her daughter Susan Russo-Napoli and her husband Salvatore of Boonton, New Jersey, grandchildren Charles and his wife Hope, Jonathan and his wife Cristina, Michael, and Jace David, she is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.

Friends and Family are called to gather on Tuesday March 26th, 2024 from 9am until 10am at Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home and Cremation Service, located at 142 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ, 07882. A Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held at Knoll- DeVoe Funeral Home at 10am immediately following the calling hour on Tuesday March 26th, 2024.
